Ready-to-lay O14 turnout bases in development

 

Progress has been a little slow and work will resume soon. The first mould tool should be

finished during the summer.

 
 

 

 

 

We are working on a range of 14mm gauge ready-to-lay turnouts. The kits will feature a one piece moulded base with all the spike holes in the correct place and etched parts for the crossing plates, tie bar and pivots.

The first test etch for the turnout parts have been produced -

 

 

 

 

 

Work on the first mould tool is progressing and cutting tools are finished. Metal cutting will start soon. The arrival of a CNC milling machine will speed up the production of the turnout bases.
